Recently, I have noticed that there seem to be many things which seem beyond my control and I sometimes feel overwhelmed by it all. Do you know what I mean? Perhaps that is true for many of us at one time or another. I’ve also noticed that when I involve myself with a focused creative activity, I enter a space where I am able to have many choices - all within reach my fingertips. Many possibilities present themselves for a blank sheet of paper or canvas. Once I start,- even if I don’t know what will come of it - I feel more centered, calm and capable of recognizing that I am blessed by aspects of my life and experiences for which I am extremely grateful. It could be something from my garden, a visit from a sweet hummingbird, or a call from a dear friend. Perhaps it is the warmth of the sun, a dip in the lake, a hot cup of coffee or the trill of a tiny screech owl in the evening. These are real things that I am so glad for and grateful that I have them in my life. My next workshop is about counting the blessings we have in our lives.
The Gratitude Mixed Media Workshop:
"Garlands of Gratitude"
This is your opportunity to learn and practice great mixed media techniques: using paint, paper, recycled things and collage, while counting your blessings. You'll have all the materials and instruction to create your own colorful, personal, art garland representing all the things you hold close to your heart.
Please bring a lunch and join us at ASiF Studios for a day of gratitude in the painting studio as we roll up our sleeves and enjoy ourselves, immersed in creativity, color, and say “thank you” for the beautiful gifts in life.

A Look Back… at our SUMMERTIME MIXED MEDIA WORKSHOP
It was such a great group of mixed media adventurers who appeared in the studio last month! We worked and played with paint, paper, collage, stenciling, imagining and mark-making to bring our summer dreams and memories to life. I’m always amazed at the results. Take a look:
